Lifehouse unleash „Hurricane“ this Tuesday, new album coming in April

Ankündigungen / English / Januar 26, 2015

Lifehouse - HurricaneTwo years after their last studio album „Almerìa“ American rock band Lifehouse is going to release their seventh record in April. The first single „Hurricane“ which marks a new chapter in Lifehouse’s over 15 year old history is going to be released worldwide on Tuesday, 01/27.

After their last release had failed to live up to commercial expectations lead singer Jason Wade shocked the fan community with a letter announcing Lifehouse’s hiatus in summer 2013. He also explained that the group was parting ways with their long time label Geffen Records. Encouraged by this newly gained freedom each of the band members pursued individual careers and passion projects. Bassist Bryce Soderberg recently finished the debut ep’s of his side project „Komox“, drummer Ricky Woolstenhulme Jr indulged his cooking and BBQ passion, guitarist Ben Carey established his all star group „Elvis Monroe“ in Las Vegas and Jason Wade worked on his yet unreleased solo album „Paper Cuts“.

Lifehouse - FlightIn November 2014 Lifehouse suddenly suprised the world with a new song called „Flight“ which is the forerunner of the upcoming album and the end of the luckily short break. Being now independent with Ironworks Music the band explained on their social media profiles the new album was going to be reminiscent of their debut „No Name Face“. Since many fans showed themselves rather unsatisfied with „Almería“ the community expects Lifehouse to go back to their roots and to be better than ever.

With „Hurricane“ Lifehouse steps back in the game. This catchy upbeat track is a perfect comeback song that is throwing a positive look into the future. Being independent from a major label allows them to go beyond borders, not only geographically.  Jason, Bryce and Ricky* are anxious to get back out and on the road to perform old and new songs for their fans. I can already see the dust raised by hundreds of people being carried away by this Hurricane as one line keeps playing in my head: „It just gets better!“.
