Today Lifehouse are out to start a two week radio tour through the United States to promote their latest single „Between The Raindrops“. The song features British singer Natasha Bedingfield giving the piece an additional touch of magic and substance. The sixth record is set to be released this year but fans in Europe are left out in the rain by the record company.

The sixth Lifehouse album is in the finishing processes, cover photos have been taken and the video for „Between The Raindrops“ was shot in California last week. Along 10 new songs there will be 5 bonus tracks available. The band is still not revealing a name nor a release date for the anxiously awaited record. „We haven’t decided on a title yet but it’s gonna be out before christmas. We can promise you that.“ Jason Wade explains in an interview with The Pulse radio. (editor’s note: Shortly after finishing this writing Wade confirmed the album release for 11 December) Apart from Natasha Bedingfield there is another guest star. Peter Frampton sings and plays his long lost Les Paul guitar on a track called „Right Back Home“.

In anticipation of the new record „Between The Raindrops“ was released on 11 September in the U.S. but started to be promoted only now. Along with a number of exclusive radio shows Lifehouse will be appearing on US TV shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. As of 12 October we could not clarify if and when the single will be released in Europe.  You know, a true fan does not want to wait and so it has happened that a superfan stands in the middle of the woods, holding up their cellphone for an hour to get ahold of the new song of their favourite band (as if there wasn’t high speed internet and network coverage everywhere in Germany). Keeping that in mind we find it bizarre that the record label holds back the release of „Between The Raindrops“ in Europe. Dear Universal Music Group, could you please explain why we can purchase bad covers and karaoke versions of the song on amazon.de but not the actual track? What is the possibility that a semi-fan legally purchases a song months after it was made available somewhere else in the world (wide web)?
